Fairy Meadow Surf Life Saving Club has been a cornerstone of the local coastline since its establishment in 1950, born from a passionate group of community members who recognised the need for dedicated lifesaving services on our stretch of beach. In those early years, patrols were run with minimal equipment but maximum determination, laying the foundations for a club built on service, teamwork, and a deep connection to the sea. As the decades rolled on, Fairy Meadow SLSC grew in both size and capability — expanding its patrol operations, developing strong training programs, and becoming a welcoming home for generations of volunteers, athletes, and families.

Throughout our history, the club truly embraced the full breadth of surf lifesaving. Surf boats became a defining part of our identity in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, with crews representing the club proudly across the state in branch and state carnivals, Aussie Titles and in endurance events like the George Bass Marathon. Our surf sports program flourished alongside it, producing skilled competitors in boards, skis, beach events, and lifesaving disciplines.

In 2025, we celebrated our 75th anniversary, honouring the people, milestones, and memories that shaped the club. Today, Fairy Meadow SLSC stands as a vibrant, multi‑generational community that continues to evolve while staying true to its roots: protecting our beach, supporting our members, and celebrating the spirit of surf life saving.

Thank you to our dedicated members who helped immortalise our clubs history with countless hours dedicated to the restoration of 1000’s of historic film images
